EPD document, also known as environmental product declaration document, is an independently verified and registered document that provides a transparent and comparable communication of the environmental effects that occur throughout the life cycle of the products.

How to Prepare an Environmental Product Declaration Certificate?

The Environmental Product Declaration, EPD®, is an independently verified and registered document that provides a transparent and comparable communication of environmental impacts throughout the life cycle of products.

EPD documents known as "Type 3 Environmental Statements" are prepared following the ISO 14025 standard and in accordance with the regulations published by platforms such as the International EPD System or IBU System.

(Epd) Why is the Environmental Product Declaration Certificate Important?

• EDP documents have been fully requested since 2013. These documents are required by the European Construction Products Regulation. Environmental Product Declaration Documents must be EN 15804 compliant.

• The sign indicating that the processes carried out during production are sustainable is passed as "CE". You may have encountered this mark on some products. The products you see the mark prove that the resources are sustainable in production.

• If there is a use as a building, the areas of use come to the fore. EPD documents determine many indicators in buildings. Such indicators include details such as water consumption, energy, and carbon footprint.

• The places that provide service for building products show their sensitivity to the environment thanks to these documents.

• LEED, DGNB and BREEM are among the documents that must be obtained to get the highest points in our country on EPD. These are green building certification systems.

• Eco design issue, in this sense, creates the basis of approach.

• LCA studies are carried out for EPD certification. Thanks to these studies, organizations have the chance to examine environmental factors in the procurement process or production.
